Mosaic floor inlay in the Cathedral of Siena of Hermes Mercurius Trismegistus. Hermes Trismegistus is the purported author of the Hermetic Corpus, a series of sacred texts that are the basis of Hermeticism. The entire Hermetic philosophy arises from a fundamental insight, the dictum "as above, so below." As a divine source of wisdom, Hermes Trismegistus was credited with tens of thousands of writings of high standing. Many Christian writers considered Hermes Trismegistus to be a wise pagan prophet who foresaw the coming of Christianity. The addition of "thrice-great" was added to his name because he knew the three parts of the wisdom of the universe; alchemy, astrology, and theurgy.

Waking up to this today...
There’s still a promise, there’s still a song
There’s still a rock where my help comes from
Hope is not lost, hope is not gone
Even in exile
Fire by night, cloud by day
God of all heaven gonna lead my way
No matter how long, still gonna praise
Even in exile
I’m marching on
There’s still a rock where my help comes from
Hope is not lost, hope is not gone
Even in exile
Fire by night, cloud by day
God of all heaven gonna lead my way
No matter how long, still gonna praise
Even in exile
I’m marching on
